OUR FOUNDER

Andrew Buchanan

Andrew Buchanan, the founder and CEO of Anselan, is a highly experienced data and solutions architect who has delivered complex systems to blue-chip clients worldwide.

Combining advanced architectural proficiency with refined business analysis skills, he focuses on mission-critical systems and turning around projects in difficulty.

Andrew is known for making complex technical subjects accessible to audiences at all levels of business and technical proficiency.

His extensive career includes successful assignments at Bank of Ireland, Royal Sun Alliance, JP Morgan Chase, and Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

With a silver medal from the International Mathematical Olympiad, Andrew holds an MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of The Royal Statistical Society.

Senior Information & Data Architect

Reporting to the overall SCB Chief Data Architect, Andrew developed glossaries, taxonomies & data models for business & technology in the devops space. He assume oversight for data architdecture, technology choices & governance compliance for applications in the banking line of business & functions.

HSBC (HK)

Global Architect

As Global Architect for Commercial Banking Analytics and MI, he was responsible for developing a new strategy to integrate all relevant systems progressively into a single logical Hadoop-based platform. He also had responsiblity for addressing data architectural issues across analytics & MI engineering teams.

JP Morgan Chase

Lead Architect

Andrew became Lead Architect of JP Morgan's Global Trade in Nov 2011. His major responsibility was TPS, JP Morgan's next-generation system for Global Trade. He also owned architecturally the 5 year System Roadmap & End of Life planning, covering all other trade systems.

Kai Mobile (HK)

Lead Data Scientist

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (#2 in the company), Andrew was responsible for Data Analytics in this successful start-up in the mobile phone space, up to their successful Series A funding from Google.

Vaultarch LTD (HK)

Co-Founder

With two partners, Andrew developed a provenance system to protect valuable papaer objects from theft, fraud & counterfeiting. Potential applications included collectable cards, banknotes, passports & degree certificates.
